Student Chapters

ADPAF COUNCIL

Student student chapters are located around Africa and provide an operating framework for the ADPAF activities at a university level. Student members elect officers annually. Each ADPAF chapter is sponsored by an ADPAF section.

ADPAF considers student member participation a vital part of our association. The Student Chapters provides an avenue where undergraduate and graduate students can engage in meaningful networking opportunities and connect with professionals in drilling and well engineering careers, both inside and outside of academia.

ADPAF chapters hold regularly scheduled meetings to help members learn more about drilling in oil and gas. They are run by elected student officers with the assistance of a section advisor and drilling professional members. Each of these activities help students build relationships with other local professionals and students, while learning about drilling and positioning themselves for success upon graduation . Student Chapters will be named in below format.

  • ADPAF UniPort Chapter
  • ADPAF UniBen Chapter
  • ADPAF Unilag Chapter

Beyond regular meetings, chapters organize a variety of activities including:

  • Company tours
  • Student conferences
  • Internship programs
  • Social events
  • Networking with ADPAF professional members

Establish a Student Chapter

Applications for new student chapters will be submitted to the ADPAF council through the section and country.

Eligibility

  • The interested student members on the application must be enrolled in a three-year degree program related to the upstream oil and gas industry or a two-year degree specific to drilling engineering or other related courses.
  • New student chapters must agree with standard operating regulations as provided by ADPAF.
  • There must be a Professional ADPAF member on faculty or in country who is willing to serve as the student chapter advisor.
  • Support from local professional section of ADPAF
