Dr Charles Ayoka is the visioner behind the birth of ADPAF. With over 30+ years in the drilling industry, he is respected as Senior Drilling Consultant. His career path started off after a HND in Mechanical Engineering from Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi where bagged several awards including overall best student. He also holds a Master degree from University of Leicester, UK in Business Administration (MBA) and a Doctorate degree in Management (Phd-Mgt)
His Industry onshore and offshore experience are in various aspects of Well Engineering Operations, Learning & development & Petroleum Engineering in Shell Nigeria, Petroleum Development Oman, Lekoil, Eroton E&P and Etihad oil & gas. He started of with Shell till his early retirement where he held consistent roles as Drilling assistant to Senior Drilling Engineer, Senior Learning Advisor and Senior Wells Planner. After faithfully giving 25+ years to Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited he moved on and worked as Deputy Manager for Neconde, Lagos, Drilling Manager at Lekoil, Consultant Well Engineer at Danvic Petroleum, Wells Project Manager at Eroton till his current role as Drilling Operations Manager for Etihad Oilfield services.
He is a Shell Round 1 & 2, certified Senior Well Engineer & IWCF certification. Has managed all phases of the Well Delivery Process. Specialists in Drilling & Workover operations, wellsite supervision, well program preparation, contract management, well design & planning, coaching, training and career development, budgets, Process safety, emergency response, Well Control, Technical planning & Business support, Technical standards & Assurance, HSE management, System Applications Products(SAP) for managing supply & services, JV/Partners Budget, performance analyses.
He has received several awards in new ideas, technical performance and academic contributions including the Shell Nigeria MD’s letter of commendation as a trainer of Wells & Facilities in Shell Petroleum Engineering (PE) Summer School. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Society of Automotive Engineers and Nigerian Association of Technological Engineers. He has attended work programs in various countries around the world including the UK, Nederlands and Oman. Dr Charles continuous to be a force of innovation and excellence in the Drilling Industry.
