Despite the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the oil and gas industry and the Nigerian economy, TotalEnergies, at the weekend, celebrating the success of the sail-away of its AMD2 extension model of the IKlKE development project. The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) described the model as a huge feat, stating that the project would boost oil production and improve the nation’s economy. Zonal Controller of DPR, Port Harcourt, Goddy Ineh, said upgrading the model
to the offshore would make some reservoirs in the IKIKE project be produced from the surface and generate more installations that would serve as a conduit for pulling crude through the facility to the surface. Ineh stated this at the weekend at the Choba Yard of Sudelettra in Port Harcourt during a ceremony to mark the sail-away of the AMD2 model.
